Loud Noise Coming From X Axis (MK2S) - Video Included

Hey Everyone,

Just finished assembling the MK2S and started the XYZ calibration. While the calibration was successful, I notice a very loud noise originating from the brace on the right hand side of the frame. I'm wondering if perhaps there's some friction that I can't observe and if anyone has experienced this before.

Many thanks!!

use some light oil on the rods. i use slot car motor armature lubrication that is plastic safe. i coat my fingers with the oil then rub it on the rods to just . oil your X, Y and Z rods on both sides. get nice light lubrication that is even. if you can move everything by hand and it moves easily without you feeling anything sticking that needs another look at and if the machine passed all the self tests and has a skew you can live with, and you don't see gouging on the polished rods then just ignore the noise and start using it. the machine will break itself in by use. during a couple days of printing the noise will change pitch and duration and eventually stop.

when the noise dies down and stops you can run a XYZ cal and see how much the machine has changed. then make adjustments and do maintenance for the next round of printing. at that point you usually need to adjust the belts because they stretch from when they are new and then kind of stay at the new stretched length for a while.

when making adjustments to the machine for maintenance like re-tightening hardware some noise will come back and again the machine just by use will re-settle and the noise eventually stop.

This is super helpful! Thank you for the tips. I'll grab some oil and try that out.
