Jerky prints

I haven't used my printer for a month or so, A few days ago, I encountered a problem with jerky movement. Travel speeds seem normal and the print starts out fine, as usual. However, about Z=1.0 cm, the head motion starts traveling a half cm or so, stop, another half cm and so on. You can imagine what that does to the prints. I thought perhaps it was just some quirk of that particular design hogging memory or bandwidth, so I printed the same design using the SD card with expected success. Several designs later and it just won't print direct from the desktop.

It worked a month ago and I've done some rather complex and large prints with no problem prior to this. So, I'm sure this is a software/hardware problem but was hoping someone might be able to help me diagnose the problem.

I'm using a 64 bit Dell Optiplex desktop with 4gb ram, Ubuntu 16.04 OS. I'm also using the previous version of FW on the Prusa as the newest version doesn't like Slick3r/usb setup

Re: Jerky prints

Hi, have you checked the cables to make sure something hasn't gotten unplugged or moved?
Also I had mine jerk around and stop working when I was running the print from the USB cable I switched to the SD card and that fixed my issue,
I think its my PC is just old and cant keep up, This may not be your issue but it s worth looking into.

You can also ask on the live chat on https://shop.prusa3d.com and see if they know what else to check or you can do.
