Today i got the shipping mail.

I did ask them several times in the past two weeks because every time I was told they would ship "today or tomorrow". Yesterday I was told "this week". I don't get it - other orders from that date for black part kits have been shipped a while ago. However, they updated the schedule and it seems that this week the last black part kits are shipped from mid february orders. I can only explain the delay due to my order modification for extra PEI sheets some time ago, might have lead to a shift in the list for shipping.

I am still waiting for my multifillament upgrade. So long i forget whether i have since added three or four orders to save delivery costs... I orderes a spare pei sheet. Which is still awaiting delivery...

Since then i have ordered a second original i3... and ordered a spare pei sheet with that too... and a load of fullament... just in time for the great delay... the i3 eventually arrived... then i broke a thermistor... so i giot the a spare direct from E3D... to save a wait.
And shipping

I ordered my printer with black parts on Feb 25. and it arrived in about 7 weeks.

I ordered mine on March 6. I didn't realize that black parts would cause an additional delay, but I can wait a few more days I suppose. I do wish the shipping info got updated more frequently, however. The last update was April 24, but they seem to only update it about once every two weeks. I did notice that the April 24th update didn't change the kit status to 'shipping' for April 24th, but it did for the assembled version, so I assume there is a delay on kits this week.

Having worked in the Mfg sector, I understand how painful scaling such an operation can be, so I sympathize with Prusa. It's a sign of success, but also a huge risk. Lots of companies expand too quickly or too slowly, and neither is good. However, I think improved communication via the website regarding order status would be a good idea since the delay is so long and the investment is so high. For example, I'll be out of town in a couple weeks and am worried that my printer will ship at just the wrong time to arrive when I'm gone.

I would propose a daily update explaining which back-ordered products are shipping that day, for example:

Then they could put the weekly schedule as it currently exists below that. This wouldn't take too long, I don't think.

It would also be helpful, I believe, to do another update regarding the multi material upgrade. It's been two months since the last post. I'm more than willing to wait for this upgrade until it's 100% ready. I head it was going to start shipping for the first orders this week but have seen no updates, so I'm skeptical.

Okay, now like others I'm a bit peeved. I ordered mine (regular orange and black) on the 7th and nothing here yet. They really should follow the FIFO model of order fulfillment.

They ship by week ordered. I bet they have a good reason for this. I'm pretty sure FIFO to so many different countries would slow things down and be pretty disorganized with so many orders going out.

I'm hoping the new facility helps them with backlog. They lost my sale the first time around because of the big delay and I ended up with a piece of crap knockoff.

Just got my notice, ordered March 7th shipping April 28th. Only a day after the fellow that order after me so not so upset after all.

I just got mine also. I ordered the Orange Kit on march 1st. Cant't wait to build it. :geek:
