Y axis stiff/hard to push

Hey everyone so this may be reaching but my y axis just seems stiff and or hard to push compared to my x axis (mk2s kit). My x axis I can push with one finger and it just glides but I've never had this with my y axis. Do you think that's normally? I have to hold the printer and pull on the y axis to get it to move. I'll attach some pictures and a short video of me pulling it. It passes the self test fine, I'm just trying to fine tune it as much as I can. Let me know if I can provide any more information.

Thanks for any help!!

Hi Cody, your Y axis should also glide easily, could you have over tightened your bearing U bolts?

the bearings are easy to squash

Hi Joan thanks for the reply it's possible. They're so difficult to get just right. I had loosened them but then the bed was making a noise because I think they were too loose. I also think zip ties might work better.

Thanks.

Re: Y axis stiff/hard to push

Hi Cody,

The Mk2 used Zipties
U bolts are supposed to be better...

My Mk2 MMU still has Zipties...

I have two sets of U bolts... somewhere.... when they reappear I may fit them...

Guess it's a case of what ever you feel more comfortable with

Okay well that's good to know that I can use them I may try that. That way I can't over tighten things. Thanks!

Re: Y axis stiff/hard to push

it might be too late Cody,
if you have severely deformed the bearings, they may not recover
