xyz calibration won't complete

I just finished building a mk2 upgrade. I flashed the 3.0.9 firmware and everything looks pretty good; the printer passes the self test and the z axis calibration works ok. Then I tried the xyz calibration.

It searches for the first four points (and finds them, I guess), then the print head moves to 0;0;0 and starts rattling like crazy. Really an alarming sound. The LED still says "searching for 4th calibration point". I let it run for about 5 seconds and then killed it. I have tried this twice with exactly the same result both times.

Any ideas what's going on?

Maybe the X endstop? Make sure it is engaging it and that the cable is seated well.

Thanks, but all the endstops are functioning properly.

As I mentioned in my original post, the printer passes the self test, which includes testing the endstops.

Re: xyz calibration won't complete

I figured this out. I was using firmware that I built from source when I ran the XYZ calibration. Apparently there is a bug that won't let the calibration finish if the printer is misaligned (in my case it was "front calibration points unreachable").

I posted the issue in the software section of the forum.
