Problem during calibration: extruder crashes into heatbed at 9th point

Hello,

A few days ago I finished assembling my new i3 MK2 and am currently experiencing calibration problems. The xyz calibration seems to be going fairly well - the nozzle doesn't touch the surface and is located a bit more than .1 mm from it (according to the A4 sheet test) - until the ninth point is reached, then the extruder just crashes into the heatbed. After the first crash the bed became a bit bent - while the distance between the bed and the extruder across the surface is somewhere between .1 and .2 mm, it becomes closer to a few mm at the top right corner.

I've tried adjusting the height of the inductance sensor - same level as the edge, leveling the surface according to the manual, updating the firmware to 3.0.8. - nothing seems to solve the problem. Maybe someone could offer some advice on what I should try next?

Kind regards,
Gerry

I have experienced a similar issue and found that lowering the probe by 1/6th of a turn resolved it for me.

As long as the probe is about 0.75mm higher than the nozzle, all will be OK.

When using the printer, use Live Adjust to lower the nozzle a bit more.

I just had the same issue. My bed now locally has a big dent, I think only in the PEI sheet. I will try adjusting the Probe, but is this bed still OK?

The bed will be OK, just the PEI sheet will need replacing at some future point. The damage is probably well out of the way for most of your prints so I would suggest leaving it until such time as you need to use the whole bed.
