first print batman logo

Hi,
I just assembled the MK2 kit and after the v2 callibration, I decided to print the batman logo. But this doesn't come out the way I expected. It looks like it misses some lines at the righhand side on the front and also at the back.I started a second print and the second one looks better but still misses the lines at the front. And I am not so sure how the finished top should look. I used a silver coloured PLA and used the standard slicer settings.
I am, as many others, new to 3D printing and have some lack of knowledge where to look.
Any help will be welcome

Marty

Re: first print batman logo

Print a test cube and lets see how that looks first.
From there hopefully we can get this narrowed down.

Re: first print batman logo

Print the pre-sliced Prusa Logo from the SD card.

If you don't have any issues then you will know it's the model/slicer settings.

Re: first print batman logo

Hi,

as you suggested, I printed a cube 2x2x2 and the Prusa logo from the SD card. It's hard to make a decent photo but I will give it a try. The cube looks OK allthough I am not sure if this is what it should look like. I am aware that it is printed and lines are inevitable, but I'm not sure if it is supposed to look like this. Maybe you can give me a hint if this is ok or not. If the photo is telling enough 🙂
The Prusa logo shows some misty lines at the bottom left, which is actulally the right side, at the same place as on the batman. Also the corner is a bit warped. Again, I am not sure how this should look like.

Is this a bit helpfull to address the issue?

Looks as though your bed needs a good clean and lower Live Z Adjust by about 25 microns.

I'd turn your part cooling fan down quite a bit also.

Hi,

thanks for the advise. I'm going to look into that tonight. Although I do clean the bed before every print with isopropanol tissues. But I will certainly look into the Z position and fan.

I will let you know what the results are.
