Bed leveling and calibration issues
so today, after a successful print, my printer (MK2S non kit version) wouldn't find the 4th bed leveling point(middle right) when I tried to print a new file. I tried again and it had the same result. I tried adjusting the pinda probe height. still nothing.
I then updated its firmware to the newest version and tried again. nothing. I tried to calibrate XYZ. it said it failed and to check the manual. I tried xyz again. same thing. I gave up for a few hours then came back. I tried to calibrate z, it failed at the 4th bed leveling point again. the x axis was skewed, so I calibrated z again. this time it didn't just fail on the 4th bed leveling point, the printer kept trying to lower the extruder even though it had hit the bed, and I so I turned it off. I tried running the wizard. I got the error message: front point not reachable. I reset xyz, then tried again. same stuff, except this time it tried to dig the extruder into the 4th point AND the 5th point bending the bed slightly as it did so (no permanent damage thankfully).
I checked the pinda probe with a spatula and it works.
Currently, my printer has a skewed x axis, and won't complete XYZ calibration.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to print part of a Halloween costume.
RE: Bed leveling and calibration issues
Update: my printer is now only giving xyz calibration failed, please consult manual as its error.
RE: Bed leveling and calibration issues
I have to say that this seems to be the exact same issue Ive had with mine... and I mean exact. It started doing it a couple of years ago out of the blue and without warning, nothing had changed structurally or with any of the software. Tried recalibration and it started to plunge the nozzle and pinda into the bed to the point it actually bent one of my rods... got so infuriated with Prusa support telling me PINDA broke... or skewed build I decided to try and haribo it as a last resort... something which Ive only recently finished... turned it on.. calibrated... printed and boy did it print well... following a 9 hour print.... the exact same issue started, right at the fourth point before a print.... recalibrate.... and crash into the bed once again..... tonight Ill try and take apart, measure again, despite my digital verniers indicating my frame is so square its ridiculous.
My thought is that the PINDA isnt actually finding the endstop at the fourth position... why I dont know especially as I ran over half a dozen successful prints... I can only say that the amount and time and effort Ive spent on this machine I could have added tfour more cheaper printers to my stable
I dont want to slag off the brand at all but this seems to be a very common problem
