Print stop for filament change

Hi everybody,

After  upgrade of Firmware and software on my i3 Mk2.5, I experience a curious phenomenon.

During a print, everythig going well and then the print stop, extruder comes at a front position and ask for the filament change. After this change, print goes on until the end.

Is there anybody experienced the same thing ? or should I modified the set-up somewher ? (i did not find any set-up for that !)

Thanks for your help.

Pascal.

If this happens with just one gcode file you may have accidentally clicked the slider in Prusa Slicer's preview pane and inserted a colour change pause.

If this happens with every file your filament sensor may be faulty.

Cheerio,

RE: Print stop for filament change

I came here to search for help for the exact same thing. My MK2.5 semi-recently started doing this. It's completely random, but on some prints it will just constantly stop and request a color change. I'm printing something right now, a 6 hour print that I'm about half way through and it has asked for color changes 3 times already. I checked the G Code and the ONLY place M600 appears is once, in a comment that explains that M600 is the color change G code. No other instances of it. Yet, the darn thing has stopped and made me pull the filament out and put it back in multiple times. Again, this is far from the first time it has done this.

Could it be a firmware issue? I'm currently running version 3.12.2

Yea, it just did it again only 10 minutes after the last one so I'm done. I want to throw this thing out by the road right now. I hit reset and cancelled the print.

I think Diem may be on point here that your filament sensor is detecting a false run out.  Check all your connections and see if any are loose, then if the problem continues purchase and install a replacement run out sensor.
