model breaking away from supports
Hi All,
Trying to print this odd shape which needs supports, but have problem that around halfway thru the print, the model breaks away from the supports. Have played with the support settings a bit, but cant find a way of getting the supports closer to the model - or with more links to make it more robust. have you tried SNUG Supports or Organic supports?

It is inherent in the geometry of the shape(s) - in fact it's the whole point of these shapes - that as any turning force is applied there is no increase in the force applied to the support so nothing to resist breakout.
I suggest splitting the part and printing both sections cut side down before reassembling after printing.
