Filament won't feed.....

So I was trying to print something (PLA) and the first couple trips around the outline the filament wouldn't stick to the removable metal bed toward one side. Then I thought I'd have better luck with PET so I ran the object through Prusa Control again and got the same result. Then I tried to switch back to PLA and the filament just gets into the extruder feed wheels and then the filament gets stuck and won't feed anymore. I figured there was cold PET stuck in the throat so I reheated to PET temps and tried again and still no feeding. How do I go about clearing the throat? I do have the 2.5 kit installed.
Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

have you removed the enlarged blob on the end of the PLA filament and cut the end to an angle?

have you tried a higher temperature for the hotend?

Re: Filament won't feed.....

I finally got the clog cleared! No, I didn't have a blob or any obstructions on the end of the filament I was trying to load. I had cut it into a taper. The issue was when I unloaded the PET filament, it created a string that came up from the heated section. It was that string that was blocking the filament from loading. I also discovered another issue. With the 2.5 upgrade, I installed the knurled extruder and pressure wheels. The set screw on the extruder motor had already come loose and the wheel was moving all over on the shaft. I cinched that down now. Then I heated to PET temp and let it soak for several minutes. Then I used the "Move Axis" mode and set it to the extruder. Then I loaded the new filament in the top and used job to push and retract, then repeat multiple times till the clog began moving. So all seems to be good now. Thanks for the suggestions!
