Filament dust?
I could be filamant or PFTE dust. I use my vacuum and brushes to clean it up.

PFTE
Has to be PFTE because I haven't used while filament in a very long time. Any idea what is causing this? Is is normal? or is it indicating something is wrong?
Fine dust will almost always look pale, to see the true colour drop some into soapy water in a clear glass.
This may be a sign that you can tighten your extruder idler a little.
Cheerio,
problems

It could be either filament or PTFE unless you are printing black or dark colors. As indicated above, grinding can change the color of the filament in dust form. Problem: Your idler screw might be too tight or too loose. Make it flush with the housing. Your PTFE might be a touch short or riding up causing it to be ground also.

Are you sure that it is not silver? If it is then it could be dust from the plating of the gears because they need greasing.
