Strange issue related to Firmware 3.11 Crash on MK2.5s

I turned on one of my MK2.5s printers today and received a Firmware Crash error. I have had this issue before, so I grabbed a new copy of the firmware and reflashed the board. Normally, this would quickly solve the problem. Unfortunately, even though the Firmware flasher shows "Flash succeeded!" the only thing on the screen is a couple of rows of blocks with space in-between the rows. Neither the reset button on the board nor the reset button next to the screen function. I tried flashing older Firmware with the same results. The only error the output log shows every time I run the firmware update is "stk500v2_command(): command failed." Other than that, everything else appears to work fine. I double-checked the board, which appears intact and lit up like my other MK2.5s. Any thoughts on what is going on? I don't want to replace the board until I know why this is happening.
