Rotary knob not responding
Hello! Last night I started a print and woke up to a nice blob of plastic after the part broke off and stuck to the extruder.
I went to restart everything and get it cleaned up and noticed that the rotary knob is not functioning, it clicks and sounds normal, but I cannot move through the menu settings aside from clicking the knob in.
I had a spare LCD control board and I plugged that in to no eval. I thought this may be a firmware issue until I connected it to octoprint and was able to control the printer as normal (all steppers move).
any ideas? I might think about flashing firmware again.
If you have it, the first thing to try is a quick blast of switch-cleaner.
After that check for broken solder connections on the part - you can also try faking pulses by dabbing with a probe - are you confident with a soldering iron?
Cheerio,
