Print Speed question
Hello,
I have recently become a proud owner of an i3 Mk2 - upgraded to 2.5 (I believe) and things are going well.
I have a design that a friend previously printed for me - on the Prusa it is taking almost twice as long to print - though the quality is excellent.
In this picture, the Prusa printed the top one - which looks smoother - what might be different about the bottom one?
I am assuming that it is a print setting as, although I don't know the make/model - I know that it cost < £200 new.
To me it looks like every layer is completely solid whereas the prints done by my friend seem to show less density on the top end - I have only used default settings in the Pusa Slicer software and a can see that the infill is set at default of 20% - should I be looking at print speed perhaps instead?

If you are happy to trade surface quality for speed then layer thickness is your prime variable.
At top right in the slicer there are Print settings with a drop-down menu including a selection of optimisations ... you might try 0.2mm SPEED for example.

Hello and thank you very much for that tip it looks like I was set on 0.05mm ULTRADETAIL!
The GCODE file I just created is 25% of the size of the previous one. The estimated print time is now just 1hr according to PrusaSlicer as compared to 4hr 23 minutes with the 0.05mm setting.
I've just sent this to the printer and it seems to estimate the same 1hr.
Lets see how it turns out.
