No recovery
I am up to date on the firmware (34.0) and Slic3r PE (1.41). I thought that there was mention of a print recovery upon a power failure. The I3 MK2.5 was in the middle of a PETG 12 hour print, while I was out of town. When I returned I found the extruder buried into the print and I had to chisel the print away from the extruder to get it back operational. Needless to say the print was ruined. Is there some setting that I overlooked to set to make the MK2.5 recover from a power failure and finish the print? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Recovery is only available on the MK3. MK2.5 and MK3 share the same firmware, but the 2.5 will never have some of the MK3 features since it lacks some of the hardware required. Such is the case with power-loss recovery.
