New PEI

Hi

Anyone knows if the "new" PEI that comes with the removable steel sheet is different from the PEI that was used for the MK2 heat bed?

I have slight issues getting stuff to stick as good as with the old bed.
Even PETG is much easier to remove, and i mean its really easy. I can clean with 99% IPA and easily remove PETG. Even have got some small warping.
On the old PEI PETG was hard to remove even with Windex on.

Have the feeling it is not exactly the same PEI.

My Live-Z is good, bed is super clean.

Re: New PEI

You should wipe it down with acetone from time to time just to refresh the pei. If this doesn't help then try sanding the pei a little bit.

I am using Aceton from time to time. Sanding a PEI?
Never had to do that with the old one.

This why i think something differs between the new and old.

can't comment on the old but i can say that being able to flex is a lot different than chipping away at a print with a spatula.
There are some reports of damage from PETG tearing holes if printed too close to the bed.

as far as "sanding" goes. I used scotch scouring pads (for cleaning kitchen pots) and very very light pressure (two fingers) and it really increased adhesion. I've printed probably 6-10 spools of filament and had to do that once only.
