MK2.5 Upgrade Kit Double Sided Powder Coated PEI Sheet alignment issue
Greetings,
I received my MK2.5 upgrade kit today with the double sided powder coated PEI sheet. Sadly, the alignment holes in the PEI sheet do not match up with the pins in the heat bed. Many of the spring steel sheets I see in online videos have a set of alignment holes on one side of the sheet and notches on the other side. My powder coated sheet does not have this. It simply has two alignment holes drilled on one side and they are about 5mm too far apart to line up with the pins on the heat bed. I can put my own notches in the sheet and get it working, however, this seems like an oversight somewhere in the supply chain/order fulfillment process.

Hi Keith,
could it be that you are trying to use the hanging holes, for when it is powder coated, in error...
when assembled that way, the text is upside down...
there used to be two notches on the other end, to align with the pins, then someone decided to simply cut out the bit between the v notches to make a single, wider cut out, that will align with the pins?
turn the sheet around 180 degrees (around the Z axis), and the text ends up at the front, the right way up
🙂
regards Joan

Having said that keith,

both of mine are working fine, upside down...
the Mk3 one, with two V notches has a bit of damage where the introline goes at the front, so I have turned it round to prevent further damage,
and the Mk2mmuv1 doesn't have a magnetic bed, so I have put it on back to front, so that I can use Swiss Clips, to hold the sheet in place
as you will see, one has the V notches, and the other has the wide notch, like your powder coated sheet...
I ordered the PC Sheet with my Mk3 in October last year... still haven't got it... the stickered sheet is working well... sometimes too well. as you can see from the mk2 printer's sheet, there have been over 94 days printing on that sheet... the other side still hasn't been used... which for a bit of sticky backed plastic, isn't bad!

The powder coated sheet looks amazing. I count myself lucky since I ordered the 2.5 upgrade kit mid-June with the powder coated sheet and have already received it. I know many people had to wait much longer. Just wish I would have taken some time to look at it more closely before posting on here. 😉 orienting the writing so it can be read makes perfect sense..............
