Missing infill support; fix?

When slicing (w/ Slic3r-PE 1.41.3) this object ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3545935) using mk2.5/s profile and generic-petg filament setting, I find some layers have no support under an infill section.  Filament gets printed in the air.  And not surprisingly, those sections lift/curl and cause problems with higher layers.  I tried changing various settings in slicer, but don't see any changes in this.

Any suggestions on how to fix that.

RE: Missing infill support; fix?

It's the first layer of of the top layer stack that is unsupported, and pretty much a a feature of Slic3r PE.  I've not used other slicers, so can't say if Cura, Simplify3D, or other slicers suffer the issue.

Increasing infill percentage is the only sure cure I have found. Printing slower, model orientation, and reducing print fan speed can help, too, but sometimes you'll still get crashes and shifts.

I've found it looks better (albeit still not quite good) when rectilinear infill is used.  It seems the solid infill generation algorithms still date back to the time when rectilinear was the only option.

Looks like this issue has been around for a long time in slicer.  Found this old github issue which references several others.  Seems like no current released fix.
