Hot end thermal runaway and replacement hotend options
Hi,
I have a Mk2 that has been upgraded to Mk2.5 -> MMU -> MMU2 and its started to report hot end thermal runaway and I can no longer get the hotend to heat up - I tried to carry out a PID calibration after a couple intermittent issues which failed, tried factory reset settings and now the printer fails initial set up
I suspect something has broken in terms of hotend or thermister etc
During one of those earlier upgrades I received and fitted an assembled hot end - I can't remember which of the upgrade packs it was supplied with
As far as I can see the original mk2 hotend that I removed is the same that would have been supplied with mk2.5/s - can anyone confirm whether I can just refit that as a test?
RE: Hot end thermal runaway and replacement hotend options
Hi there. I'm wrestling with similar issues and I'm just wondering if you ever solved your issues. Just finished upgrading from MK2 to MK2.5s and I keep getting thermal runaway. I was able to improve things by reducing the min and max fan speed from 100/100 to 35/80. But it still overcools the head at times by 5-10C.
