Display Showing 2 Rows of Squares - Tried Replacing Cables and Flashing Firmware
Hello everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has figured how to solve the issue with the display showing 2 rows of squares.
I have tried to fix this problem by:
1) Flashing the firmware
2) Replacing the two ribbon cables (I have gone through 2 sets of cables with no success unfortunately)
3) Reseating the ribbon cable connections on the RAMBo and display PCBs
I have had brief moments with the LCD display working, but the LCD display would revert back to either gibberish or 2 rows of squares when I went to the next screen. This makes me think the issue could be with the LCD display PCB rather than the RAMBo board.
I am feeling a little stuck and would appreciate any help. The print quality on my Mk2.5 has been fantastic and would love to go back to printing cool things.

I have had this problem when building things and it was the LCD connections shorting sometimes?
Think you are correct and the problem is probably with the LCD display unit - easy check would be to try
someone else's display, I am in the SW of the UK if this is anywhere near you? (Exeter or Torquay)
LCD display panels are pretty inexpensive if you are handy with a soldering iron - a 20 character * 4 line
display (that Prusa uses (or it might be 16 characters * 4 lines, can't remember!) - is around 10 UKP - but
the PCB it is mounted on might have a short/bad connection and the LCD panel might be ok?
Think taking the panel off and using a magnifying glass to look at the PCB couldn't hurt, might show something obvious?
Perhaps ask Prusa for a circuit diagram? There is one for the Rambo board but haven't seen one for the LCD display

there is usually an orange chat box in the bottom right hand corner of the page that I have linked to, above... however, today when I looked the chat box was white... maybe it's a winter thing...
