Lost X axis motor Steps

Hello everybody

Each time I try to print the X motor lost step in a different layer once and it continues to print. As far as I can see it happens when travelling before it starts a new layer. I am using the default printer settings. I only changed the extruder settings to match the filament.

Regards

Eduardo

RE: Lost X axis motor Steps

The cause is simple:  when the printer is printing the first solid layer, the edges of that layer are not well supported with Gyroid. Square edge, curved support, and the layer begins to curl. The curl is tall enough the nozzle snags on it as the extruder moves, and the stepper stalls.  This is a "crash".  When a stall happens and crash detection is disabled (Stealth mode), the printer is unaware and continues on.  But the extruder is no longer aligned in the real world, and the part builds normally from there on, just offset from wherever the stall occurred.

This is extremely common when insufficient infill is used.   Increase infill and to 25% to 30% Gyroid, or you might find Rectilinear, or Line to perform better on this part, and try again. Rectilinear sometimes works better if you increase infill width to 0.55mm ...
