differences mk2.5 / mk3 / mk3s

Hello,

I'm a newbie and I might buy a 2nd hand  mk2.5...

1/ what is a good price for this older version ?

 2/ Can someone tell me the most important differences between the mk2.5 and the mk3s

3/ this person claims that the printers was upgraded to mk3... how can I check this ?

Mk2.5S has a less rigid, threaded stud lower frame with plastic corners, 12 volt power supply,  4 wire pinda sensor,  (Old style) noisy stepper drivers, physical X and Y axis endstops, 
No Power Panic and still uses the Mini RAMBO controller which is more susceptible to over heated heat bed connectors  (Mine is about seven years old (Originally Mk1 printer) and the connectors are still good, but some folk suffer issues. Infra red Filament Sensor

Mk3 series,  has a more robust extruded aluminium box section lower frame, with metal face plates, 24 volt power supply (Trinamic TMC 2130 stepper drivers, (quieter, with sensorless homing and 'virtual endstops), Power Panic is part of the power supply, screw terminal connectors for the heatbed, which appear more resillient to overheating. Einsy Rambo controller (More modern than mini rambo) 
Mk3, had a laser filament sensor... worked but had issues, has 4 wire Pinda with integrated thermistor for temperature calibration
Mk3S had Infra red Filament sensor, more reliable (Black PCB), Still has 4 wire Pinda, as above
Mk3S+ has updated Infra red Filament Sensor (RED PCB), improvement on Black PCB. also has Supa Pinda, which is an improvement on previous PINDA Probes (three wire system, again... ) 
Mk2.5 Y axis Frame

Mk3S and Mk3S+ Y axis Frame

this later frame is much more robust than the Mk2.5 Frame

ok 

thanks for your detailed info !  I can buy a 2nd hand Prusa mk2.5 for 350 euros or I can buy an Ender 3 v2 for 150 euros.  I want to learn 3d printing but at this moment no experience at all.  So, I want do print for learning / experiment with different filaments,...

And another very important difference is the number of fixation screws for the heatbed on the heatbed-carrier. The MK2.5 has only 5 points (in real 6 points, but 2 screws are very close together) and the MK3 has 9 points. So if you think to make a silicon-mod or coilspring-mod to be able to adjust your heatbed, the result is better on the MK3.

I have an original MK2 and I would really like to upgrade it to MK3s, I need a website for instructions and parts that I need to get and print for the upgrade. Can anyone help?

Upgrading MK2 to MK3. Is not cost effective.

MK2 to MK2.5S is probably your best option
