Upgrade Help from v2 MM to v2.5

I currently have a Mark 2 with the Multi Material Upgrade installed. I have recently received my 2.5 upgrade kit.

However, I didn't realize that the kit would not come with the printed parts this time and that I would be expected to print them on my current printer. This is a problem because I could never get the Multi Material upgrade to work on my printer. My prints fail ever time. I tried tinkering with it for over a month and finally just gave up and decided to wait for the 2.5 upgrade.

So I can't print the PETG parts needed for 2.5 because my current MM doesn't work.

Also, I couldn't even find any instructions for moving from a MM to 2.5 on the website so I'm not even sure how to go about it.

Can someone please help me figure out how I can go about upgrading my printer?

I'm in Central Texas.

My brother said he might be able to print the parts for me, but he's only printed in PLA and is worried about how safe printing PETG is.

The other possibliy is for me to downgrade back to version 2 and print the parts myself, but I'm not sure how realistic that option is.

I'm in the same boat - I've struggled to get good prints since installing the MMU and guess I'm now stuck waiting for the MMU2 to come out before doing the 2.5 upgrade.

I'm surprised there's no option to buy these printed parts from Prusa. I was really happy with the machine originally. Less happy now.

How far in Central Texas? I'm 200 miles west north west of Austin. Printing the parts wouldn't be a problem. The only problem is I am out of black PETG.

Tell your brother that printing PETG is just as safe as printing PLA.

I had similar issues printing PET-G, so I have printed my Mk2.5 parts in PLA and it is printing fine. no issues, only part I have used that is PET is the fan nozzle, and that was included in the Mk2.5 kit.

I am so sorry, I just now saw these replies! I didn't get any notification emails about replies. Again, sorry about that to everyone who commented.

I had to put things on hold while I moved, so I haven't solved my issue yet.

However, if PET-G is just as safe as PLA I will just have my brother print the parts for me. He has the filament and prints none stop so it won't be an issue for him.

Thanks again everyone!

EBay is also an option. There is a guy selling them for about $35. I did end up printing them myself but had never done PETG. Came out OK but the eBay parts were much better so I used those instead.

I finally got it working!! It took forever between waiting for my brother to send me the parts and calibration but it is finally working.

I do wish there were better instructions for upgrading from a mk2S with a MMU, but it wasn't too difficult to figure out.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!
