PET printing issue
Hi,
i’ve had my Mk3 2S for over a year and it prints PLA like a champ. I just bought the 2.5S upgrade and need to print PET for the first time.
The image below shows the results (not good) using the 300g supplied Prusa PET. What you are looking at is the first layer, it’s a bit nicer on the top side, but not great.Slicer is set to 0.15mm layer height, material is set to Prusa PET. Everything else is defaults, 230/240 for extruded temp and 85/90 for bed temp.
The smaller objects seem to print “ok”, but the bigger ones crash and burn. I also have the print in a lack enclosure to it’s not getting a draft.
Can someone recommend what to try to address this?
sincerely, Paul
RE: PET printing issue
Oh, I also tried reducing the print speed to 75% and still the above results.
RE: PET printing issue
Maybe check on that first layer (xyz calibration) and make sure your bed is really clean (use isopropyl alcohol then windex)
RE: PET printing issue
Alas that didn't work =/.
RE: PET printing issue
Actually, you may have had it right..... I was using acetone-based nail polish remover, but just bought some pure acetone. Test print seems to be working like a champ...
RE: PET printing issue
PETG is very sensitive to having a clean bed and a dialed in live z.
