First layer consistency throughout bed?
After figuring out my PINDA temperature compensation issue, I'm trying to get a really good, pretty first layer. I'm printing a test article of 25mm x 25mm x .2mm thick, replicated over the corners and center of the bed. This gives me a nice skirt covering most of the bed perimeter, as well as samples in multiple spots.
The results are alright, but kind of underwhelming.
Here's my sample:
In the back right, the sample looks decent, but the skirt doesn't quite have good line attachment - the z height is a little too high here. Maybe 20 microns.
In the center, there's definitely something going on - lines aren't quite attached right anywhere on the sample.

Finally, on the bottom-left, z height isn't great enough. There's some waviness in the skirt due to the excess material, and there's noticeable ribbing on the sample from adjacent lines squishing plastic out of the way.
So the question is, what can I do about this? It doesn't seem to be a corner-to-corner thing that I can tell, it's less consistent than that. And if it were, shouldn't mesh bed leveling have taken care of it?
How can I dial in a bed that seems to be a bit less flat than the Mk42?
FWIW, I had some trouble getting the screws in on this bed, as if the standoffs weren't perfectly perpendicular - I had to very lightly thread the corners, then the center, and only then could I tighten it down. On the Mk42, all the screws lined up perfectly so any of them could re-thread with the others all tight.
