Filament sensor improvement is my guess. But who knows... ❓

Hi Thomas,
it blocks the filament sensor cleaning hole,
the hole allows you to use an air duster nozzle to clean the sensor area, but it also allows ambient light into the sensor housing.
the plug stops the ambient light

This is a STUPID design! Is this seriously the best somebody could do? It falls out way to easy!!!

you are welcome to design a better option.
I had difficulty handling the original plug with long finger nails, so rather than trim my nails, I modified the plug.
I can now pick it up easily, and it will plug in, either way round
what would your alternative look like?

I don't know just yet, but I will design something in sketchup. It will most likely be the idler housing and the idler plug as I just don't see any good way that makes sense the way it is now. Since I'm already in the process if printing the upgrade MK3 parts now would be a good time to come up with a much better design.
