Whats a little bit strange to me: Why do they still use STL files? As i know, they wrote, that 3mf is the better file format for the slicer.

They normally make the .scad files available at some point which is nice since you can easily modify them. I think .3mfs are so generic(since they are effectively a .zip file, that they can easily store extra stuff in them. This might in fact be a little too flexible. I'd worry if you pulled a .3mf from some untrusted source and they put malicious content in there.
