XL Order Spreadsheet/Poll

At the beginning of the XL preorder, someone setup a spreadsheet to track order position in the queue.  It was slowly abandoned over a few months as the wait grew longer.  The spreadsheet only sampled approximately 236 XLs.  There is a lot of bad data because users would enter the wrong date, time or order number.  This would defeat the purpose of tracking their queue position.  Most people were/are unaware of this spreadsheet.  I participated because it was done when the Mini was released, and that spreadsheet wasn’t neglected.  I analyzed this XL spreadsheet and did a breakdown of the orders.

21 Single-Head Fully-Assembled 8.9%

5 Multi-Head Fully-Assembled 2.1%

149 Single-Head Semi-Assembled 63.1%

60 Multi-Head Semi-Assembled 25.4%

1 Unknown 0.4%

What is interesting about this is that a majority of the orders are semi-assembled, which won’t ship until May according to Prusa.  Many single-head orders also notated that they may upgrade to a multi-head which will delay their order.  We can also assume at least 10% canceled their order.  I included the link to the spreadsheet below for others to analyze it themselves and draw their own conclusions.  I also added a poll to this thread to which configuration users had ordered.

Correct on time.

So launch time, assuming the 6:44 EST would be 1144GMT?  Did I get that right?

Jeez, who's the fan-boy who ordered 10....

I think your 10% cancelation rate is way high.  Per Josef Prusa’s statements the day one orders were “thousands”.  Assuming 1,000 just of day 1 orders, I don’t see 100 or more cancelations.  But that is just me.

My assumption is based on the comments on FB Prusa and Bambu forums and considering all orders.  Many users/customers announced that they had canceled their order.  It has been 16 months since the initial announcement.  Their situation may have changed.  They might have lost interest, decided on a different model, lost their job, don't have enough space for the printer, lost their patience, or some other excuse entirely.  Sixteen months is a long time, and a lot can change.

I suspect that you will find that a bunch of those folks are not being truthful.

I have not seen a single person post that they received their "email".

Honestly, the Trolls / Bambu Mafia won.  If I had received my email, I would not announce it.  I have not since I ordered a multi tool version.

I respect that.  I own three Bambus and 8 Prusa (nine soon).  My order was for a single-head assembled.  I thought about changing that to a semi-assembled multi-head, but I will do that for my next one.  I have dedicated space for 4 of these in my workshop.  If the first one works out, I will buy more.

RE: XL Order Spreadsheet/Poll

I have plenty of space for additional printers.  My fledgling farm has a Mini and a MK3S under OctoFarm management.  I have a spare Pi4 and RepBox waiting for the XL so I can integrate it into my workflow.

I’m looking forward to the large build volume for spacecraft models which is my primary product at the moment.

My MK3S has a MMU2S so I currently have multi color capability. The E3D Revo has performed well with the MMU2S.

Small world.  I do high-power rockets.  We fly every month in South Carolina.  I put on up to 7K last month.

The XL will be my first 3D printer. I have watched the 3D printing scene for years. The announcement of the XL was the perfect time for me to enter into the 3D printing world. My order was placed on the 11/29/2021 and since that date i am writing a list, what i want to print. 😀 Anticipation is the best joy. My model will be a 2 head Semi-Assembled one.

RE:

I never got an order conf, I just got a deposit invoice dated the 20th, but my order date is the 18th.  It was pretty early.

My order number is:

16372XXXXX

The table seems to imply the order number should start with?

1660946796 and the last 6 are variable? Does everyone's orders start with 1660XXXXXX?

ETA:  Why does my post say "Awaiting Moderation"

The time stamp on my order email is 6:29am on 11/18/2921.  I came across the announcement from coverage at FormNext (I believe that was the show) and got the order page link before the initial announcement.

There were quite a few orders from 6:00am to 7:00am based on posts here and elsewhere.

I am waiting for the first person to say they received an email.

Looking at the spreadsheet, I see an order at 3:20AM PST (6:20 EST).  I didn't place mine until 8:32 AM, which means I will be waiting until early summer.  I'm also waiting for someone who received an email.  Either they aren't on the forum, or it's select individuals.  I wonder what the shipping will cost?

Shipping should be listed in your pre-order.  Mine is listed as $134.39.
