RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread

They talked about shipping the two toolhead versions, but i can‘t find any information about fully assembled or semi assembled tool head versions. I guess they will ship the fully assembled two toolhead versions first.

I sure hope not.  They need to start shipping the kits.

If I have a five head order and I wanted to switch it to a two head order to get it faster, could I do that? And then the other question is is when spare tool heads will be available to flush it out to to 5. With two it let’s me start to play and understand. Five gets me to where I really want to be.

RE:

Yes, but when you order additional tool heads down the road they will be more expensive.  If you are changing from 5 to 2 because you don't want five any longer then that's ok.

Do you have a source for that, or just a guess?

It is an assumption, I think because I have not seen anything about it.  That being said, it is a sound assessment.

My understanding is the 2 heads will start shipping before the 5 heads by a month.

Info: I contacted support to get an answer for everyone.  The multitool XLs start shipping on the 19th and will ship as both assembled and semi-assembled.  The semi takes 45 minutes - 4 hours to assemble.

Talked with Prusa again to try to get a status of the three orders because I’m getting contradictory reports from what their shipping tables are to what they’re telling me. They’re still saying the Queue line is very large and production is very slow . Here’s a screenshot of part of the conversation,  final outcome they’re still telling me 2 to 3 months until I should see at least one of my units. They have a very inconsistent timeline with these XL releases . My orders were placed day one .

Day one is quite large.  I would bet they sold a thousand or more on day one.  What hour of the day did you order?

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread

My orders went in at 9:13 AM EST , I understand i'm going to be waiting a while , i was told if i want to to check back wait until at least July 1st for another update .

Their pre-order process has never gone off without any issues , I just don't understand how they haven't communicated a more accurate shipping time table for the orders outstanding . The MK4's dropped and shipped just as timetables stated ( VERY happy with our MK4's we have received BTW ) , i'm sure the MK4 full upgrade kits are going to ship just as they say as well . I have an odd feeling there's a background problem still plaguing the XL release with unannounced issues . How can they have production going slowly on literally their most desirable product , unless there is an issue on a component or supply chain . I work with automotive related products with General Motors and i can assure you there is still a HUGE issue with supply chain related delays . There's nothing wrong with it , sadly it's a part of life now a days . I just feel they should be little more transparent with the truth of the delays . Give a realistic time table for shipping , where in line you are in the order processing and what exact issue is with the delays .

All aside i am not cancelling my orders at all,  I will be anxiously awaiting our XL machines and will post as soon as they arrive  !

I ordered a few hours before you, and I am pretty sure I ordered before it was announced officially.  I saw the post on the forum and ordered.  I will post when my order ships and arrives.  I will probably not do videos.  I will post my experience.

I plan to compare the product to my Bambus.

RE:

The XL I received a few days ago is working very well.

No problems.

Excellent bed adhesion.

I am not using a draft shield, and have the printer in a very drafty area in front of a window AC unit.

No problems at all.

You do not need a draft shield unless you print ABS, PC, or some other sensitive filaments.

What filaments have you tried?

I'm probably not the only one looking forward to that comparison as you will probably try to be objective.

I am pretty objective.  When I first received my X1cs and P1P, I could not get anything to stick.  I was used to a Prusa.  I was not happy at all with my purchase of a Bambu.  I read and watched multiple videos and figured out what I was doing wrong.  I prefer the P1P to the A1C for most filaments.  I just do not need an enclosure to print most of what I print.

How does it stack up to the Mk3S+?  It is not a fair comparison.  The A1C and P1P are superior.  To a skilled Mk3S user, it is not that dramatic, and it is not a quality issue.  It is a speed issue.   Then again, you give up strength for speed.  I speed up my Mk3S to about 125-150% and get good strength, and the Bambus is just a bit faster when I slow them to match strength.  If you are printing trinkets, it is not a huge deal; with engineering grade parts and useful betas, you need strength.
