Prusa XL Order Tracking List
Hey folks, if you're familiar with the Prusa MINI release, someone made a list that users could fill in and let people know when they received their printer. (Purchase date, Delivered Date, etc) so the other people in line could estimate how long they had to wait.
Is anyone up to the task on re-doing that effort? I have absolutely no idea how to get that started.

😉 Well, if remember correctly don't waste sweat. Prusa does that for us judging by the still live Prusa Mini delivery list

Here's a quick spreadsheet that I threw together for the Discord server. Please note this is entirely unofficial, and you are welcome to participate or not at your own discretion. In order to protect people's order information, I have asked people to zero out the last three digits of their order number. Hopefully this should give us an idea approximately how many preorders were received, and let people know roughly where in line they may be.
If you have suggestions for what other statistics/info to show, let me know.

Did anyone figure out why some orders have 1637 pre-pended to the number? VAT thing?

If you talk of the above Google sheet, it's probably all orders have 1637 in front but some people just forgot to remove it as the list suggest using the last xx digits, not the full order #...

I didn't quite understand why the second spreadsheet decided to trim off the first four digits. No real advantage in terms of anonymizing the data (the last two digits was sufficient for that) - and if enough orders are placed, certainly possible to have duplicates. More people used that spreadsheet though, so I guess either it was actively promoted or people just liked it better. Either way, we are where we are - and we only have the data we have. Prusa have told they will not be sharing the number of preorders - it would have been nice to be able to try to figure that out as a community. Best I can tell, there were probably well over 100k last I looked but that's just a guess based on order numbers.
Ultimately, our printers will be delivered when they are delivered, and we will look back on this and laugh at being concerned about when they will get to us!

I don't use Discord at all so I guess they didn't know there was one already?

Re the number of pre-orders, yeah I guess it's in the thousands but 100k.... XL is definetly not for everyone out there... Price and volume speaking.

I wouldn't be too surprised if there were 100k units ordered within the first few days. That includes farms and what not that order by the 10s or 100s. Hoping I somehow see mine this year... I sold my Ender 3 a few weeks back and have been missing having a 3D printer around. It's given me time to work on designs, but, want to be printing xD
I notice that my XL order number only differs by a few hundred from that for a replacement MK3 part I ordered a couple of days later, you may just be tracking total orders...

There is not an EXL specific number. They are just order numbers.

A "new spreadsheet" wasn't started "for the discord group"... there just happened to be two overlapping efforts. I'm not a frequent forum user - but I came over here to look for something like this, didn't see it, and saw someone on the forums also asking - so I created it and shared it. That's usually how this kind of thing goes, right? There's no malice or pride involved - just two people working on similar things at the same time.

Well, in the Great Recap of 2021, they disclosed that they sold 114,000 printers total in 2021. I think there's no way in hell they received >100K orders...

I'm sure pre orders are not included. My point was, if they sold just north of 100,000 very popular printers in 2021, I have a hard time imaging printers that are much more expensive and much larger to sell in a range close to the total of all other sales.

That's a fair position - but I think it's also a fair position to say that there are a great many people that would buy Prusa's first toolchanger printer. Over the course of 2 days, it was observed order numbers increased by > 200k. By the third day, order numbers are over 250k higher than the first day. Of course, if Prusa did anything "interesting" with the order numbers to thwart attempts like this, all bets are off. I think the way you got to your opinion is valid and I'm not trying to change your mind here, just noting that there is thought behind mine and it is reasonable too.
With that said, I stand by my original conclusion:
