It's very likely that this will be like the initial Mk3 release with several delays and then slow initial shipping for several months as they make adjustments. They did an admirable job getting that model out and did a good job at keeping people happy.

Just know that it's likely that if you ordered on November 18th you'll have yours months before someone that ordered a week or two later.

Dumb question: when was the cutoff for orders that will be fulfilled in 2022 vs. 2023? I noticed their product page saying “new orders will be processed in 2023,” but for the life of me, I can’t remember if the page said that when I placed my order in early April.

I don't believe it was ever publicly stated. Only Prusa knows for sure, and they are rightfully holding that information close to the chest. They may not even really know, given supply chain and -waves hand at everything-. Fingers crossed they move through the queue quickly though!

It was never said - outside of the first printers shipping in Q2-3 which appears to be more Q3.

Well seen . this information is new and should not be old.

We can deduce that the 2022 deadline will be met for the first orders ?

I'm not convinced. But I'm starting to think that maybe I'll have it for Christmas. 🙂

Woo, we're gettin' real close to the end of Q2, everyone!
I'm also a little excited, as I backed the Bambu X1. I am not sure they'll deliver on their promises, but for how inexpensive it is, it is worth the risk. Still going to keep my XL preorder. The X1 is supposed to ship in July, which I also doubt. If it does though, then I'll be able to closely compare it and the XL once the XL ships as well.

That would be nice. With the enclosure coming out in July, I really don’t see the first shipments coming out until September after their August vacations. With most of us getting them October November on the pre-order. Hopefully at least by Christmas. But yeah some indication of what the machine is capable of, especially play suave bullheads and what kind of alternate technologies that could lead to. I wish they would at least give us a beta of the slicing program to better understand the capabilities and limitations. Make me the specs on the E head interfaces so that we can start to work on custom ones.

I'll have to agree. I think at this point it would be prudent to release a few more specs, or at least let us know if the multi-tool is going to be capable of something other than 3D printing... (3D milling, point scanner, laser, knife cutting for leather/cardboard....).

Also after the mk3 enclosure, they had us salivating for what the XL enclosure could be.

I agree guys, secrecy is important until all is ready. But a lot of folks are now ogling the X1 Carbon with its impressive speed, enclosure, and HEPA filter. Maybe... a teaser from Prusa will go a long way to calm the nerves.  Because we all know speed is not all... but let's be honest... is not unimportant.

Maybe a preview video, another post telling us of things to come. Or the roadmap... Expected durability or noise levels...

I think we will hear something by August. Just a hunch, but it is better than nothing.  

I talked to Mikolas Zuza at TCT 3Sixty yesterday, he said they are reasonably optimistic about September for the first general deliveries if the supply-chain fixes work as anticipated.  There may be a few special deliveries in August; I assume he meant review machines but he wouldn't commit.  He did say that as I didn't order until a few days after the first mad rush I shouldn't expect mine before Christmas 🙁

Otoh, I have now touched an XL and I have a better idea how much workshop space to allocate.  Print samples are as good as i3 and one unexpected tidbit:  The print heads have worked out narrower than expected and they are considering adding mounts for a sixth...

Well, it sounds like I'll have my X1 Carbon + AMS well before my XL then. That's actually good - if the X1 lives up to the hype and videos from the youtubers are true to life, it'll take something super extra ordinary for me to keep my XL order.

About the only benefit I would personally have from the XL is the multiple extruders, allowing multi-material with drastically different temperatures with much lower chance of clogging.

The X1 is the right volume and quality, plus multi color which was 95% of what I wanted in the XL. I don't care about the speed so much, but, the quality coming off the X1 is impressive. I'm like #1800 on the kickstarter, so hopefully some "real" users get theirs well before I do and post more reviews and such.

We'll have to see once the X1 actually delivers. Well, and the XL, too, since there's barely any information out on it other than press-release type hype. Prusa would do well to get at least a few demo units out there ASAP.

I'd rather not post a link on this forum, since they're a competitor to Prusa. If you google Bambu X1 you can find the kickstarter, the Discord server, and a truck load of reviews and live streams.

With so many KS orders, I better wait and see the outcome/delay of this... I really doubt they're on line for this massive success and a July 2022 delivery.
