Maybe it is.  The original author also mentioned that.

RE: Prusa Delays

I'm picturing a VIN diagram of people who are awake early to order stuff and people who post videos online- and they don't overlap.

That and there aren't many out there.

I'm more surprised that the beta test people aren't chiming in.  I guess you could say that they aren't 'real' users since they were beta units, but obviously Prusa bound them up with NDAs.

RE: Prusa Delays

I contacted Prusa last night because I forgot what I ordered after the year+ after the order.  Unfortunately or Fortunately, I ordered a two-head semi-assembled.  I will be waiting for a little while for my order.  No issue.  I want a five-head; eventually, this will get me closer to that.

I ordered on the first day a two head semi -assembled. I was going to upgrade to a 5 head but i dont quite get what they mean when they say is going to get longer if you increase the number of heads. The delay is a couple of weeks in order to assemble the extra parts or do i get to the bottom of the list as a new order and wait for end of 2023 for it? Did anyone clarified this with prusa?

I'm doubting my memory on what I ordered, and both the invoice and order page don't seem to clearly show it. It was "just" $1999 though so I guess single head semi-assembled. I could've sworn I chose multi, but, guess not. I'm a day 4 order anyway, so I'll be a little surprised if I see mine this year, based on the commentary for getting through just day 1 orders. Have another X1CC on the way to tie me over, now.

My understanding is that:

-The multi head beta units will(have? maybe) gone out to testers.  When they get the feedback, then they'll clear multi head models to go.

-The Assembled multi head units will go first.  The semi-assembled will go after because they need to validate the unfinished ones for QA. (A built one is easy to test, an unfinished one is different.

I don't know where un-assembled single head ones fall?

Frankly, until they are shipping 5 head un-assembled, they are behind- and then there is the backlog.  I'm maybe 4hours in and for some reason I think it will be a month per hour.

So multihead-built June?

Multihead-semibuilt July?

Then start adding month per hour.

Then divide by orange to the power of Klipper, run through a matrix...

Someone doubted a 10% drop rate.  Hell, 1-2% probably have died.  How many small companies have gone out of business.  How many have other printers.

I have decided to go with an FLSUN V400.  I need something to print nose cones.

RE: Prusa Delays

Hi Everyone,

I’m a new member to this forum and after reading the posts I thought I’d just share my experience.

I ordered a single tool, fully assembled unit on 11 November 2021. I got the letter from Prusa on 13 March 2023, completed the payment the same day and my unit was scheduled to arrive on 17 March 2023 via DHL.  It actually arrived on arrived on 15 March 2023. I’m in NY.

I’ve not done a lot of printing with it other than the obligatory Benchy, Prusa logo, XL First Layer Test, and a replacement bed scraper.

I’m not a reviewer but I will say that the unit is much quieter than I expected. It’s actually quieter than my MK3S. It’s about the same as my Mini, and it’s in a full enclosure.

I plan to take a day next week to really work with the printer.

...Bob

You have no idea how happy that makes me. That was my biggest concern with the XL, I'm very sensitive to resonance noises and buzzing. I've spent way too much time on making my MK3S+ as quiet as possible.

Could you please check how's the 602 issue compared to a MK3S? Is the extrusion as inconsistent as on MK3S or did they improve it with that new extruder design?

Also, how's the part cooling, especially with PLA? Is it sharing the issues from MK3S (fantastic cooling from the front, abysmal from the back) or is it better and more even?

RE: Prusa Delays

I think that issue 602 is something so variable from even printer to printer that it will be difficult to judge without having seen how a lot of different printers behave. Of course, a first educated guess might be possible even with a single printer but it might be misleading.

I am interested to see the first reviews though or even any real world experience with it. If the XL is even more silent than an MK3s than this would be already a real advantage over a Bambulab, for those who do care about noise (not all do of course).

RE: Prusa Delays

Something new is being teased.  It’s probably going to be revealed tomorrow on Prusa Live.  Nextruder Upgrade kit for the MK3?  Unveiling the MK4?

Nextruder Upgrade kit for the MK3?  Unveiling the MK4?

Whichever that is, my wallet is ready. I don't really care about speed, I just want a nice surface quality, but hoo boy, this thing looks mighty speedy for a bed slinger. That looks like XL's heater block too, innit? I hope they will offer an upgrade for MK3S+ users. And if this is really the same hotend as XL, then will the V6 adapters also work? I want to use my V6 TC nozzle.

Could you please post your order number? I've bought a 5 tool machine the same day, about 20 mins after Josefs tweet, and it would be nice to thumb estimate my queue position 🙂

Based on how fast that's going, my money's on the announcement of the public release of the input shaper

Sounds possible. Input shaper is a huge deal. Even if it is their own version of it which is maybe not 100% as effective. I wonder, that would need at least some hardware upgrade, wouldn't it?

My other question would be if this would be compatible with the MMU, probably not I suppose but I am just guessing.

RE: Prusa Delays

I jumped on an MK4, but, didn't realize I could've swapped my XL preorder for a "high priority" MK4 order instead. When I ordered, it said the MK4 was in stock, but now shows a 2-3 week lead time. I'm hoping that I made a cut off to get quicker shipping, though I'm not sure how the "high priority" thing impacts that. Definitely want to keep my XL preorder anyway... I feel like a 3-5 extruder XL with an MK4 will have me pretty well setup for FDM printers. I cancelled my latest X1C order as well. Super excited. Thought other XL preorder folks might like to know about the option to swap.

I was kinda hoping they'd put some of the XL developments in the Mk3 successor. If Nextruder and 32bit firmware become the new default for all PR printers we can only benefit.

Good video.  Thanks for sharing.  I would say the level system is a huge plus also.
