Prusa and industry

Hi all,

I'm posting here because the forum global General discussion has too much OT or messages that should be in other sections and I think who is following here is more interested at this subject.

As in the recent post on the blog about 2021 and 2022, from the Dubai 2020 print farm prototype and what is presently known about the XL seems Prusa is moving towards the industry market.

What a beautiful news!

Prusa declared the new developments and all the acquisitions (and I add 700 people are HUGE amount of resources) are intended to standardize the building blocks of a printer to allow to scale up on volumes and models.

I would be very happy to see Prusa's big format printers and High Temp ones (that are the trend of the industry) at an affordable price, mainly because seems to me there is a lot of vision at Prusa on what "affordable" 3D printers should look like in terms of features and capabilities (i.e. load sensor, no calibration, bed heating modules independently controlled, etc.).

All of these technologies open a world of applications in 3D printers not just for the purpose they have been presently developed (and I suppose Prusa is well aware of it as per the words of the CEO in a recent interview you can find on YT).

Just as an example I'm presently interested in large industry printer formats around 2m x 1m x 60cm (or more) and into "large" HT printers (and I'm presently available to invest and/or to help to the development of this kind of printers in EU).

Just as an example, the 22IDEX is produced in EU (probably in Germany): someone knows where?

What's your point of view?

Bye

RE: Prusa and industry

I have been convinced for a few years now that Prusa's printers are a viable alternative to injection molding for many applications, with low-cost incremental capacity & no need for mold investment. Their steps toward improving quality, consistency, capability, size, & reducing the need to monitor the print process reinforces that view. This is why I pre-ordered the XL.

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do with all your might!
