Glass bed success
This might help someone, so I thought I would make a post:
I wanted to print some Taulman nylon that I could not get to stick to the steel sheet, and some Prusa PC blend pieces that were lifting the steel plate from the magnets, so I decided to try using a spare borosilicate glass bed I had lying around. I printed some clips and attached it along two sides (the glass is only 300x300mm) to hold it in place on the heat bed, and edited the priming G-code so it moved the nozzle into the bed as opposed to against the "handles" of the steel sheet. With Magigoo, it worked perfectly! As expected, the probing procedure adapted to the new height with needing to do anything, the prints stuck well to the hot plate and popped off by themselves when it cooled. The one thing to look out for is that the clips have to be pretty low profile (3mm works) or they will hit the extruder parts during probing and priming. I think I'll actually order a 360x360mm glass plate to have for these situations.

Are you printing in a enclosure?? If so what temp? Have you had to do any mods or reprint any parts in a higher temp filament? Just curious.

Also you mentioned you had to modify the start gcode, anything else?

the Mk1 Prusa printer used to use Borosilicate glass for the build plate however it is more difficult to source. https://e3d-online.com/products/borosilicate-glass-beds?_pos=2&_sid=e911923e2&_ss=r
Mirror glass has been a popular option for 3D printers in recent years, as it is typically flat and even thickness this can be obtained from glass merchants, p;ease ask them to grind the edges to remove sharp edges

I have not found a 360x360 glass plate, but I haven't really looked either. I see that now Prusa has the steel sheet for Nylon, so maybe that's the way to go.

Yes I see that now as well, I will have to order it and find out. Thank you for the heads up on that. I tried contacting two glass companies and none have the borosilicate glass.
