First Layer pattern problem on Prusa XL

I am printing a large item. 11 inches wide by 7 inches tall. I am having trouble with the first layer and I am getting mixed results and cannot duplicate successes. The only way I have achieved a successful print is if the entire perimeter is drawn first and then the infill is drawn diagonally and in its entirety. For some reason, the file is loaded most of the time in sectioned grids. It will do the perimeter for each section and then the infill. About the 4th section, the perimeter is laid down but then it comes around again and drags the perimeter line messing up the print. The strange thing is when it begins, the "entire perimeter" print will do probe points for the entire print area. The "sectioned print" will only do probe points for the 2-3 sections that it successfully prints. I'm wondering if the heat bed is not activated for the entire print area because of that. I have tried every setting I can find to try to get it to work. I thought I had the answer when I set the infill bottom fill pattern to monotonic. It worked once but not again. I also tried other settings like print infill before perimeter.  tried all of the fill patterns. I also moved the entire print to different parts of the heat bed thinking maybe some of the heaters were bad. I changed the perimeter generator from arachne to classic. I tried slower print speeds. I tried using an adhesive. Can't get it work correctly again. I think there has to be a way to pick a pattern to do the entire perimeter first.

Help please.
