RE: Semi-assembled version - time to build?

Hey Guys...

When did you order your semi assembled XL's? I paid my deposit in November 2021, and no sign of any notification that I'm in line for one being provided to me.

Did you order yours before then?

Thanks

Chris

I was a 1st day pre-order for a semi-assembled single head unit.  I received my email on 6/27 to complete my order.  Now I am waiting for the 5 head unit to become available so I can change  😏 .

Took me about 6 hours.   I am not sure how anyone could do it in 45 minutes.

One or two heads? I just received the email that I can finalize my order, but I am having second thoughts. Not because of the assembly, but I have not seen any videos or reviews yet that have me convinced it really is as good as I had hoped. However, they will of course improve the firmware (and adding input shaping) going forward, so things will most likely improve. Have you been able to form an opinion of the machine yet?

RE:

Hi,

I got a XL 1H and it took us about 5 hours to build (2). I must say, that we build it with absolut care and followed the instruction step by step and read each "episode" before we started. We had no issues at all.

Printing our first models went without any problems and we didn't suffer any loud noises, rattles or other issues. I found the nozzle (0.6mm) a little bit rough. So I orderd a bunch of nozzles (0.25 - 0.4). At the moment I'm testing 0.4 and compare it with my MK3S+. A 3D-Benchy was twice as fast but I suffered some stringing. I refer that to the poor quality of the filament - a noname product and quite old. So I just started another print (nozzle box) with Prusament PLA and hopefully see the result tomorrow.

I like that Printer very much so far and the XL will not replace my MK3S+. Two are better than one 😉

Best wishes

Stephan

3-5 hours is right. a lot of the parts are already assembled.

the mk3 / 4 took me much longer.

if you start after work you will have it running in the night. (so did i)
