Prusa i3 finally completed after 6 years, need help to get it going.

I have after 6 years finally completed the build of a 80/20 framed Prusa i3 with an upgraded build platform 300 x 300 x 300. I used a Megatronics v2.0 board, 12v and 24v power supplies.

I would like to point out this has been my first sojourn into 3d printing with very little background electronics knowledge.

Looking for suggestions for possibly improving the original design specs. at this stage I plan to keep the Megatronics v2.0, but all else if open for suggestions.

1. What firmware, original Marlin on board?
2. Control software, I have been using Fusion 360 CAD, would Meshmixer be suitable??
3. Do I need additional slicing software?
4. Open to all suggestions.

Thank you all for your input in advance.

RE: Prusa i3 finally completed after 6 years, need help to get it going.

Looks like your on a pretty steep learning curve. None of my business but have you though about buying a cheap 3d printer just to get you started.

Anyway I'll answer your questions best I can

a. Marlin is very widely used.

b.You would use Fusion 360 (or any other CAD package) to create a 3d design file.

c.PrusaSlicer takes the design file and converts it to simple movement commands for the printer.

d.I fear things may have moved on during your hiatus,  see cheap starter printer suggestion.
