Raspberry PI4
Hi,
I only have the PI4 and can't seem to find the Zero in stock here. Any news on compatibility with the 4? Or any workarounds to make it work?
Thanks
RE:
There is a hint from someone in this forum on how to use a non-Zero Pi (like Pi4) over USB.

Pi4 works perfectly.
Donât trust forum advice.
RE: Raspberry PI4
Connect with via SSH (works for Rpi3/4):
Get root access: sudo su
go to the Folder etc: cd /etc
Create Folder: mkdir Prusa-Link
Change directory to folder: cd Prusa-Link
Create/edit File with: nano prusa-link.ini
Paste the following in File and Save (cntrl+s then cntrl+x to exit nano) -
[printer]
port=/dev/ttyACM0
baudrate=115200
Reboot: sudo reboot --force --force
Confirmed that the above instructions work on PrusaLink version 0.6.0 also.
Note: Rpi Port in printer settings set to "off" (its not needed for Rpi3/4)
Note: if for some weird reason your printer does not register on PrusaConnect
on first try - no need to start over. Delete the prusa_printer_settings.ini in
the /home/pi folder and reboot the pi. It will start the printer registration
sequence again for PrusaLink. Its a good idea to open https://connect.prusa3d.com
and leave the tab open in the same browser you open http://prusalink.local/ .
In the final registration step of PrusaLink if you have to log-in to PrusaConnect,
the registration menu goes away and you are left with nothing to register and
PrusaLink in error mode for the web service.
RE: Raspberry PI4
I can confirm that the above steps ( some need to be sudo commands )
I have gotten the RPi3b+ working
RE: Raspberry PI4
any body can give me the temrinal command to ssh over to the pi so i can access it and add the files to connect via usb. thanks colyn
RE: Raspberry PI4
ok it looks like the following
ssh PrusaLink.local but asks for password which i assume is password when creating the image but wont accept it very strange
RE: Raspberry PI4
It’s the standard pi user/pass
user:pi
pass:raspberry
RE: Raspberry PI4
ok so thanks for the heads up but i managed it i think i had to connect with ssh pi@ipaddressof pi then my password i created when creating the image managed to perform all the tasks above so now need time to upgrade one printer to 3.10 and have a play, thanks for the help anyway
RE: Raspberry PI4
ok all good up and running just dont use the premade folder named Prusa-Link make one in the correct place and dont forget to run the command sudo su as soon as you ssh over to the pie
RE: Raspberry PI4
Can it also be a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, or does this also need some special thread?

I have Zero 2, because original Zero is not available here, I just used original 0.6.0 image without any changes and it works fine. You may only need to print a modified frame (several are already available on prusaprinters).
RE: Raspberry PI4
[printer]
This kept tripping me up. I thought you all meant something like [url] as in a placeholder. turns out literally typing [printer] worked just fine once I got all my other issues fixed.
here's what I messed up: check the image version. this doesn't work before 0.6.0 and the guide links to a static download of 5.11
do not change the username from pi. Do change the password as the image writer won't let you continue if you don't.
otherwise the above worked for me build 0.6.1 with a Rpi 4
RE: Raspberry PI4
Hi, can I ask what guide did you use? The e-mail ones should be gone, so the only one I know about links to the classic printer assembly style guide. That should have 0.6.1. I'd like to get rid of it, to stop tripping people up
RE: Raspberry PI4
This one:
https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/prusalink-and-prusa-connect-mk3s-mk3s_221744:
step 8 just links to an unversioned img
RE: Raspberry PI4
This one links to an image that doesn't have a version number in the name, sorry about that, but since they link to an FTP server, it's the most convenient way for them. If there's a utility that translates static links to dynamic file names automagically, please recommend it, I'll try and convince them to use it.
But the image is the correct version. I checked, downloaded, unpacked, mounted and it is 0.6.1
Did you have an older image lying around, or is there something broken on our side? Except the guide being confusing
RE: Raspberry PI4
I'm not sure.
The build I downloaded from the guide link and the one from the forum link are different. I can't seem to attach them here though. they are too big.
RE: Raspberry PI4
What is the forum link and the guide link? Both mentioned sources had many versions linked, I cannot make heads and tails from that. Could you please send the links to the posts/guides with different PrusaLink images?

sure
