PrusaSlicer -> Add to Queue, and Website Logout Time

Hi all, recently moved from OctoPrint to PrusaLink/Connect in anticipation of my Mk4 coming in June. I wasn't a super heavy OctoPrint user in terms of custom features, but was overall quite happy with it. Got PrusaLink .7 RC2 installed on my Pi4 and connected to my Mk3s without issue and overall have been really happy with — there's a lot of features I like such as: "ready" workflow for printers, cloud support, and the print queue. I also appreciate the clean design and am connected via Ethernet, so I'm not worried about slow transfer speeds that folks have referenced.

A couple of feature requests:

1. PrusaSlicer should have an Add to Queue feature, instead of Upload/Upload and Print. "Upload and Print" ignores the "Ready" status of the printer and will go straight from "Idle" to printing. "Upload" puts the file into PrusaLink storage which requires multiple clicks to load into PrusaConnect: Printer Files -> PrusaLink Gcodes -> Add to Queue. I'd recommend a preference to change "Upload and Print" to "Add to Print Queue", but adding another dedicated button to the window would work too.

2. I've added PrusaConnect was a web app to my iPhone in order to make it easy to "Ready" a printer, but the Log In status seems to timeout at a very short interval. Essentially this means I need to log in every time I open PrusaConnect on my phone. Please allow us to stay logged for a longer interval. (A dedicated mobile App would be an even better solution).

Overall, really quite happy with where things are at for a beta product. I think it's totally usable for my, admittedly small, 3D printing farm.

Hi, The new PrusaSlicer 2.6.0 should resolve your first feature request. I have not personally tested it, but the button should be there.
I do not know the cause of the second one, i will pass the report along to the team.

Thank you for the feedback, glad you like it 🙂

The logouts on iPhone will be an issue. It does not let us save anything between subsequent viewings. If we cannot save anything, we cannot remember anything locally. We will try to work around that, but it's annoying.

RE: PrusaSlicer -> Add to Queue, and Website Logout Time

I'm running PrusaSlicer 2.7 and cannot find the aforementioned feature that adds a new job to PrusaConnect's queue.  I can "Upload" or "Upload and Print" which does what their names might suggest.  I cannot find a feature that adds an upload to PrusaConnect.  In order to add an item to the queue, you must "Upload" and then when the upload finishes you can log into PrusaConnect and add the file that has been uploaded to the printer to the queue, but I can find no mechanism that allows a user to add an item to the queue directly from PrusaSlicer.  Am I missing this feature somewhere?  Thanks!

Hi, do you actually have Prusa Connect selected in the physical printer preset?

If you do, this is what you'll see.
If you don't. Change the host type to Prusa Connect
In the address box, put https://connect.prusa3d.com
And in the API key box, give it the one for Prusa Connect, not PrusaLink. You can find it in the Prusa Connect printer settings tab.
That's my "prusa" word writing quota for the year 😀
