Disable Error Beep
I am using PrusaLink with my two MK3S+ printers, and a Raspberry Pi Zero W on each one. PrusaLink works flawlessly, except they randomly lose an internet connection for a second or two, and beep that there is an error. The error resolves itself, but the constant beeping throughout the day and night is irritating. Is there any way to turn off the beep when there is a connection error?
Other than this, PrusaLink is working great. This is very impressive for a beta, nice work Prusa team! 🙂
RE: Disable Error Beep
Thank you. This is a bug caused by two things. PrusaLink reports each dropped connection and the Connect backend is dropping those for some reason. We're searching for a fix on the latter one. In Link, I've added a workaround, to silence these for 10s. If the issue dissapears in this time, It won't make the printer beep. Coming in the next RC, hopefully soon.
RE: Disable Error Beep
Just FYI v0.7.0rc2 keeps beeping. The only fix is set a silent mode on the printer, but then I don't know when do a filament change. (and there is no fanfare when print is finished)
RE: Disable Error Beep
hi just install the RC2 and same here ..not big deal but just to inform
i don't have any fanfare at end print !!! 🤣 🤣
RE: Disable Error Beep
Yup, observed it first hand, still beeps. :/

RE: Disable Error Beep
I think this gets ignored when the printer is set to silent. That's the point. And they have to have it silent because our thing won't stop beeping at them.

Link
Hi, what is the link with the workaround?
RE: Disable Error Beep
It didn't work 🥲 i have a hotfix image where the workaround works. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VDrbvQPKWhzncZn3NDgeJcdTMjHGzzhd/view?usp=drivesdkdrivesdk
still beeps, just less often
RE: Disable Error Beep
OK, nice... will test
RE: Disable Error Beep
Let me suggest a solution, The Silent Mode option in FW. Just an option to turn off all sound alerts. I have a feeling that the situation got a little worse with the printer FW update to 3.12.2. I recently updated from 3.11.
Today the printer beeps almost every half minute. It's driving me crazy (and my wife can't watch the series, I'm afraid she'll throw my printer out the window, from the tenth floor 😀😀)

RE: Disable Error Beep
Hi, I agreee with the message above !
I just moved from octoprint to Prusa link with my MK3S. I like it, it is working very well but the random beeping is really annoying, I do not want to switch all the sounds off.
I know nothing about programming but I hope this problem will be able to be fixed 🙂
RE: Disable Error Beep
Hello,
Can I update the system with your file or should I create the SD with it from scratch?
RE: Disable Error Beep
I know this will not help much, but in my case, I have no beeps with rc3. MAYBE like once a month or so.
With previous versions it was a different story. Since v0.7 it was beeping every now and then.
RE: Disable Error Beep
Hi, yes, the next version will have the ability to turn off the error chime for wifi errors. Also, it'll be the default state - off.
Turn the printer sound off, then it will not beep almost in any situation. Maybe try out the notifications that Connect can send to still get notified of events like filament runouts.
The frequency of beeps is influenced by wifi dropouts and the stability of our backend nodes. It makes sense that weekends would be worse. There are less eyes monitoring it.
The image is that, an OS image. It needs to be flashed. sorry

this is what i do Tojik but as you wrote we have no news if filament run out or any other important beep !! Anyway it's weird , as some days i have a few beep and some other day i have 1 every mn or less !!

Thank you very much for the good news. In 99% of cases, the printer displays the message "errors resolved" I'm going to upgrade to MK3.5 soon and maybe buy MK4 right away. Replacing RPI with LAN connectivity is another good reason.
Does this mean that the printer will send specific messages to Connect? Not just "the printer needs your attention"?

RE: Disable Error Beep
I don't think we have that working yet. Also, there are upload speed issues right now. I am hopeful we can expand the functionality on the 4 tho
