Still occasional layer shifts with 5.0.0-RC

Apparently there's still a problem with occasional layer shifts in 5.0.0-RC. Bed is running smooth like a charm and bearings sound quiet, so no mechanical issue to suspect here.

RE:

I wonder why.  I have 50-100 prints with zero shifts.  Do you have a specific print and filament that is usually happens with?

i dind't have shifts for the first 100 print hours. no i had 3 prints (pla) that had a shift for i would say 1-2 steps in Y axis. (different hight).

i was printig in 0.4mm/0.2mm speed setting.

i will see how this envolves.

the thing that pi... me off is that the filament sensor started to get stuck every time.

Came here looking for this post, put a lot of hours on the MK4 this week and only happened once but it is annoying. Was able to salvage the print as it was gridfinity boxes that can be used anyway, but not great

RE: Still occasional layer shifts with 5.0.0-RC

Had seen this post before and just today this also happened to me printing a custom length of Honeycomb Storage Wall. Had my first layer shift since i assembled the printer(got 5.0.0-RC since day 1). So for has been printing perfectly but this makes me scared of printing bigger projects with this firmware.

Does anyone know if this is reported on GitHub already?

Jup, same here. Strange thing is, that i'm close to this printer (on my working desk) and i heard a noise like the head banged to something, but there was nothing! No stuck cables, no filament blob to bang against. I stopped the print and reprinted it, at it worked. So it's neither the slicing or model..

When you say you stopped it, did you remove all from the build plate and start the print over? Or did you pause the print and the resume printing? It seems eveddnt that something is causing the stepper motor  to skip belt teeth.

Also with Fw 5.10. It happens often! Many prints have to be thrown away.
