5.0.0 behavior....
So updated, and it seems to work fine, but the startup routine is kinda odd. It bangs against each end of the axis a bunch of times before probing the bed - didn't used to do that (same slicer version 2.6.1). Is that supposed to happen? I also got more dangly bits in ABS using the same file as before, but didn't expect that to be the same really.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
This is happening to me also. Didn’t do it on the RC version, does with the announced 5.0.0. Version. I can’t believe that amount of smashing into end stops is required…

RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
I came to see if anyone knew if it was supposed to be doing this, because I'm getting the same. The x-calibration hits the left end a few times, and sometimes does a kind of jerky shimmy across to the right. Only since installing the shaper firmware, but regardless of whether the sliced file was generated with a shaper config or not.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
Same behavior here. Like it was possessed. First time I had something printed. Next print, it didn't do it. Octoprint works OK with 5.0.0. The prints are fast though.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
This is expected behaviour that is covered in the release notes on github. I recommend always reading the release notes carefully before installing any new firmware.
Also, please note that due to this change, there is a new motor sensitivity calibration procedure happening during the Selftest or homing, which might be a little noisy (mostly when the printer is checking for the end of each Axis), however, this is normal and expected.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
That's odd... mine was bashing a lot before the 5.0 update using the RC FW. After the latest update, the bashing has stopped.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
so, more info.. Basically every time I print, it tries to home on the left and says "printer crash detected!" and hammers away for a while, then eventually figures it out. Clearly something is wrong. The actual prints are fine though.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
Same garbage for me. I didn’t have this with RC or alpha 2-3-4 but I have it now.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
Absolutely no problem here.
I printed the last days all around the clock and everything was perfect.
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
my y crashing when it occurs every other print it so, says recalibrating y
RE: 5.0.0 behavior....
Perhaps Prusa support can tell us why the firmware is creating this kind of behavior, its purpose for such behavior and if we should expect this kind of behavior in future firmware releases.
So far, the printer is printing like it's on steroids. Love the new speed.
