12 minute Bonkers Benchy made me smile.
After countless spot-checks of Github to see if an alpha had been posted I was quite glad to see the Input Shaper alpha firmware along with the handful of MK4 gcode files. Just had to give the 12 minute Benchy a whirl before sleep. Well, um, seeing that MK4 spazzing out like one of my Vorons put a big smile on my face. Awesome to see and surprisingly good print. Printed with the included roll of Galaxy Black PLA it was tweaked for. Looking forward to giving the MK4 IS profile a try over the weekend and will be interesting to see how things come together for Input Shaping on the bed-slinger that I default to when I want a no fuss good print.

Hey that's my video 😁
RE:
And here is another one.
I tried to embed the video but then there was a message from Wordfence that I did something bad ... 🙂
Well, some photos at least.
RE: 12 minute Bonkers Benchy made me smile.
I just sliced my first part with the new IS profiles. After the first layer is complete, the MK4 really means business! 🙂

it is surreal seeing it whip around like it does after 5 years of using an MK3S/MK4

I am printing a gridfinity bin, starting with a simple part and all that. The previous settings for the part with PETG said 5 hours 3 minutes, with the new IS profiles and PLA it says 2 hours 3 minutes. I am curious how the finished part will look. After almost 1 hour it is at 44 % and everything looks fine so far.

I've printed a half dozen or so things and they've all been perfect

The g-code spatula by Prusa that came with the new firmware also came out great for me. That was the first part I tried after upgrading the firmware.
RE:
I'm finding the quality from the Alpha profile pretty darn good and certainly night and day in terms of speed. Have had a couple of unexpected explosions with PETG. rectilinear infill that didn't stick and spaghettied, and some weird poorly adhering infill on first layers. Things where the normal speed profile has been happy. Have to say I was NOT sure how the input shaping bedslinger would go but I'm now feeling much more optimistic about it. Seriously big time savings on some prints and good quality prints. Also noticed that the Y input shaping varies with weight, which I was kind of assuming it would have to, so I guess that print orientation for some things with many parallel walls in one direction will print faster when twisted 90 degrees. Going to enjoy watching this IS move from alpha->beta->release. Throw in high flow, first part nozzles and we're off to the races. 🙂 Oh, yeah, then a Prusa XL not XL. 😛 Nice to see some Prusa stuff getting out in the wild.

I ordered a CHT nozzle to experiment with 😎

Same with me: very good quality prints at 2-3x the speed with the IS profile.
RE: 12 minute Bonkers Benchy made me smile.
Yes indeed. 27 minute benchy was outstanding quality and 12 minute benchy was really really good as a demo.
I imagine PETg settings will require some tweaking what with volumetric flow constraints. Looking forward to experimenting.

I've been printing with PETG for about 80% of my prints (with input shaping). No issues to report yet.

@BrutusBoots
Fantastic. We have some PETg parts we'd love to speed up. Will try soon.
