Trying out the new FW and the Benchy and had good success. My homing sensor gave some issues but when you hold the print head with your fingers it will get through properly. The print quality is decent but I'm sure that we can improve it slightly.

Belt tension has to be more than double checked in my experience, I had to have it precisely just below the max on both axes for it to work.

The only issue I have - and it's repeating - the X homing error. It takes 3-4 times till I can start a print, despite have the belt tension double-checked, and all fine with X axis movement...

Would anyone share/link the print settings when using PrusaSlicer 2.6.1 and Prusha Mini Input Shaping profile that could achieve slicing of a Benchy with print time at about 20 minutes in order to test it?

You can use Import Config from the File menu and select the bonkers benchy file on the Github release page to import the settings. But really this is a 30 minute benchy (which is still amazing) with cheats to reduce it to 17 minutes (single peremiter, 5% infill, no z-hop, 0.3mm layer height).

Happy to see the firmware no longer requires bed heating to load/unload filament.

RE:

My mini+ had homing error too - for me it was bad belt tension.

Tuning belt tension with https://belt.connect.prusa3d.com/ solved homing crash problem for me.

Filament unload also has some issues. It cannot unload the filament properly. It was working 10 out of 10 with older firmware, now it stuck and ask me to open the extruder? On repeat it succeeds though.

How did you get it to connect.  I keep getting no serial port found in Octoprint.

I printed mine from Octoprint

I got iOctoprint to connect to printer via serial but Prusa-slicer gives me error when testing connection.

I am getting Error #12611

Firmware/printer versions do not match! You are trying to flash FW meant for other revision of the Buddy board.

Is it likely that there will be a firmware update for this version?

I made my first quick dirty tests with this new update

The benchy on the Right is made with the old firmware, and my usual "Kind of Best Quality settings" 0.4 / 0.2 layers / 3 perimeters / 15% infil ... 1h36

Then I used the Belt tune app, update to this new IS firmware, loaded the Bonkers Benchy from github then push print 🙃

... 16min Benchy 🤣  My pour Mini on drugs. That's crazy to see

So much cleaner than I expected. I'm going to do more reserch and try to use the IS to improve my previous presets

Happy owner of a Prusa Mini+ (with Bontech extruder and heatbreak);)

RE:

This was so fast... It is not high quality but fast 🙂

There is some underextrusion on edges on the top and vertical edges and a line when the flat part is over and only the high part continues to be printed.

Had the same issue as many here: homing the x-axis. But the problem was solved by tightening the belts.

Well, I can't really complain for being an Alpha firmware!  It's printing pretty nicely other than a few snags. It's easily 30% faster than before.

Octoprint connected fine at first, and PrusaSlicer sent the job easily enough once I created a new Octo instance for the Input Shaping profile.

I did find that at some points the print started stuttering and pausing especially at very detailed spots where lots of gcode would have been sent. I guess the serial connection between the printer and the Pi had issues, but it only lasted for a line or two. I'll try PrusaLink next to compare.

Once done, I tried sending another print job, and this happened:

I rebooted the machine, it connected and printed again, and then it happened again after that job. So, with successive OctoPrint jobs this seems to trigger an exception that hasn't been caught yet.

Very promising! I can't see what's next!

"Known bugs :

Using Prusa Connect can occasionally lead to BSOD.

If the ESP Wi-Fi is outdated, the “update” message can become unresponsive. The workaround is to insert a USB drive with any G-code and then update the ESP from the “Network” menu.

Due to the major changes to the code, the Octoprint is currently not working, however, we are already working on the fix.

In rare cases the printer might have issues with homing, a temporary fix is to hold the print head for a while while homing."

I guess that answers your question about octoprint :).

The Firmware is realy fantastic. I have no problems during the update.
I changed a few values in the Mini IS Profile and printing profil, because I use a Direct drive on the Mini.
Its important to take the new Material Profil because of the M572 Start g-gode for pressure advance. I changed the Value S0.3(Bowden Extruder) to 0.038 (0.4nozzel with direct drive, MK4 value)

Here are my results, 3D benchy / 0,2mm layer / maximum speed / 2 outlines/ 15% infill  / 48min
With my old firmware I need 1h23min with the same quality

Since yesterday, I calculate a lot of our products and parts  and we will save 30-35% of printing time.

Lol I guess so! Well, OctoPrint works as long as I reboot the printer after every print. It may be time to dust off that Wifi module and throw it in there for PrusaLink..

My laziness prevents me from going back to loading up a USB key and trekking a whole 2 floors down to plug it in!

In one of my prints there was a significant first-layer gap along the sides of the model, and it didn't exist before upgrading.

Turns out, in the new MINIS print profile, the first layer width is set to 0.50mm which is rather wide. Changing it back to 0.42, fixed that gap. Geometry, I guess!

Of course I could have just changed the infill angle but I needed it in this orientation. Just in case anyone else rusn into this problem, this may be the issue.

Worked for me ! Tried the 16min benchy and loved it. What is the difference between pressure advance ( added in this alpha release) and the linear advance in the slicer ? My understanding is that they are mostly the different term for the same thing. Where do I tweak this new pressure advance ? And how will it work with the linear advance in the slicer ?

Just installed yesterday on my Mini, it's impressive, it's work as expected with very fast printing.

Thanks a lot for this update Prusa team's.
