@p-o I was thinking about doing a temp tower. I’ve made them in the past with the old printer and never saw a difference. Again I never did trust that printer. 😆

Regarding the default Benchy : well, it makes sense for everything shipping by default with the printer to be tailorted specifically for Prusament, which in practice means a 215C printing temperature ... Other brands could very well behave best at other temps, like for instance the Amazon Basics PLA stating a possible temp range of 190C to 220C. So why not vary the temperature by increments as the print progresses, from 195 to 205 to 215 ? And similarly tweaking speed, from 80% to 100% to 120% for instance.

Well after putting the HatchBox in the dryer for 24 hours I did print another benchy with no difference from the last. I also did a temp tower. I have to be honest, I can’t tell much of a difference between 220 and 180. I’m seeing slightly less stringing at 180, but that’s not to say 200 is much worse. I think the 200 range has slightly better definition in things like the the cones. If someone can tell me what I need to look for in this print I’d appreciate it because I don’t see it.

I only have two more pieces to print and then I’m going to break open the Prusament and see what the benchy and temp tower look like.

Need to be careful with some Temp Towers; if it's just the model, it won't include the code for temp changes at the different layer heights!  I did my last one manually.

And it still showed almost bugger all difference in the different temps!
So I spent the day tweaking the retraction speeds and distances.  Got the Benchy down to zero strings, and everything now seems to print satisfactorily (2.5mm and 50mm/s, FWVLIW).

@richard-d Thanks for the tip. I made sure mine were changing at the appropriate level.
