Under extrusion always in the same spot

Hello all,

i hope I'll be able to explain my strange issue.

My print keeps under extruding always in the same spot (circled in green in the pic). Looking in the slicer i see it prints the left wing first (the good one), then the head and lastly the right wing. So when the layer changes the "big" travel happens moving from rigth to left wing.

But while this is true for most layers, at some point the order is inverted (so, right wing > head > left wing, "big" travel left to right). Coincidentally, these are the layers where the under extrusion happens.

I also already checked retraction and deretraction points in the slicer, but they are inconsistent with the under extrusion, as I am also using random seam.

I see no oozing signs apart from the very minor stringing you see in the pics.

Printing with:

  • Prusa mini +
  • Prusament PLA
  • E3d revo V2 hotend

Print on the left has been printed using these settings:

  • temperature: 215°C
  • retraction: 2.2mm
  • retraction and deretraction speed: 40mm/s

Print on the right is:

  • temperature: 220°C
  • retraction: 2.0mm
  • retraction and deretraction speed: 40mm/s

Really scratching my head on this, as it is happening always in the same spot and the hardware do look fine.

Also the other wing is identical and it prints fine.

Thanks in advance for any support.

Lorenzo
