The support prints looks abnormal?

Iam trying to print this unicorn for my daughter, but Iam having issue with supports looking as it is having under extrusion issue while the others Unicorn. layers seems fine.

It is something wrong with my settings?

RE: The support prints looks abnormal?

It's ok, that look is due to the extrusion width, but the supports do not really need to be super consistent to do their job 😉

You can modify the setting in Print settings - Advanced - Extrusion witdh - Support Material, but the default setting should be fine.

On the contrary, from the sliced model screenshot i notice there is an unsupported mane, that will cause issues if unsupported.

Lastly, the horse's hooves need some brim in my opinion, since the contact with the printing surface in very small and it can detach easily.

I'm not an expert. Ma parlo anche italiano 😉

Thanks Antonio for the fast feedback. The reason I asked, was because I'm experiencing som kind of under extrusion issue. Half way through the 11 hour mark of a lamp print I got uneven extrusion and missing layers at certain part of the print. It's not the first time with issues, if the print time is quite long, which is why I'm asking if the support looks normally like this.

I think most folks here prefer a set of support settings different than the default:

0.25mm z distance.
75% xy distance.
3mm support spacing.
4 interface layers.
0.2mm interface layer spacing.

But I found that supports often come out a bit wimpy, yet do a good job in most cases.

@fuchsr

ok Thanks for the tip. I have recently got into 3d printing and the Prusa mini+ is my entrance into 3D printing world. All tip and tricks are much appreciated.

Another tip, get down with your printing speed. Especially for large, non functional parts. I realized that the Mini prints quite fast (my opinion, and the opinion of others too) which sometimes ruins smaller prints and also bigger ones. Anyhow, getting down to 75% or even 50% is going to save time in the long run 🙂

It did for my quite often, but it is kinda a gut feeling if the default speed is fine or you go slower on your prints.
