Strung out
Hi All,
I am trying to print a lithograph of our dog for my daughter's room window. I am having a terrible time with stringing using PLA. I printed one a few years ago and was happy with the results. I not sure why it is going so badly this time. I followed all in guidelines in the troubleshooting article "oozing and stringing" but am still having issues. Not sure what to try next. The printer had not been used in about 8 months so I printed a 3DBenchy and it came out fine (well, almost, I didn't give it a brim and the top part didn't go well, but no stringing on main structure of the boat). I thought it might be damp filament, but I keep my filament in vacuum bags with silica packets. I tried a different roll of PLA and that didn't work as you can see in the photo below.
Questions:
Should I use something else besides PLA to make a lithograph?
What should I try to get to stringing to stop?

Hej Hej,
copied from my Stringing-topic (Stringing - Filament is good – How do I print this? (Printing help) – Prusa3D Forum)
may you try an testprint from this website?
https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html#retraction
I think you will get all the settings by yourself.
Try to set the Z-Hop to 0,2mm an vary your Retraction from 1mm to 3mm.
I think you would`nt have any stinging.
good luck!
