Resuming Print After Power Failure

So I had a unique situation. As the Mini was sitting for a filament color change my power went out. I don't know how to best resume my print.

I thought I could go in PrisaSlicer and perform a cut on my model at the color change, but that just puts the top half on the print bed and I obviously don't want that. Is there a way to cut the item in PrusaSlicer and keep the top part suspended where it needs to be?

Another thought I had would be to modify the GCODE and have it resume where it left off. The problem there is I don't know much about the syntax of the GCODE file. I did a little research and I believe I can delete lines 412 to 256386 and pick up right where I left off. Can someone check and confirm my understanding is correct? Thanks!

TL;DR: life's too short. Print it again.

Sure, you can try GCode acrobatics but unless you're a gcode ninja it's 99% likely it won't work or will at least leave some visible artifacts. I've tried it a few times. Now, I just sigh, curse the 3d printing gods, and cue up the next print...

Thankfully I don’t have too much time and material invested, a new print would not be a big deal. Thankfully the MK3S+ does have resume from power failure and it worked like a charm. (Power was out for over 6 hours.)

Surprised the Mini didn’t get that feature.

And of course, an uninterrupted power supply is always a good idea — even though it won't do much good with a 6 hour outage…

I do have it connected to one, but like you said 6 hours is no bueno.

To add insult to injury, we’re getting a Generac generator installed next week. 😖

Wait, there are 3d printing gods?

And if you have Elegoo printers, don't forget to pray to Mars, Mercury, Jupiter...
